Located in the rolling hills of Barnard, Stonewall Lodge is an ideal venue for couples looking for a beautiful, blank canvas to make their own. The lovingly-renovated log cabin and its grounds are the perfect backdrop for a Vermont wedding in any season.
"Having a private place where you can create a magical wedding is ideal when the surroundings are this gorgeous," says Lodge owner John. "We hope that couples find Stonewall Lodge a place to create memories that last forever."
Situated on nine private acres, the Lodge has an expansive, flat lawn which is ideal for a tented wedding. Adding to the property's beauty are "stone farm walls and sweeping views of the distant Chateauguay land reservation," says John.
Be it a microwedding or large gathering, the Lodge has plenty of room for parking and vendor setup/service areas to accommodate most any function.
The cabin itself is a romantic, cozy getaway. John and his husband have carefully made significant upgrades, including the kitchen and bathrooms, to update the property while maintaining its rustic charm. It would be a lovely spot to get ready the morning of the wedding, and to retire to after the festivities.
On a personal note, John says he and his husband will always have a special place in their heart for Vermont weddings, having celebrated their own in the Green Mountain State (see below)!
